(Update......Retired 28th August 2003)
(written by web mistress)
Michael has just completed thirty two years with Lancashire Constabulary and is currently serving in the rank of Inspector based in Headquarters Operations.
He has been essentially a uniformed officer for all of his service with several attachments to C.I.D. Special Branch (Aliens) and as a Community policeman. As a Sergeant he performed the usual roles of patrol and custody. In fact, he was a Custody Sergeant, and on duty, the day that the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (P.A.C.E..) came into force. This Act revolutionised the arrest, detention, questioning and care of detained persons etc.
Since his promotion to Inspector he has been a section Commander in charge of his own section (now called a Geographic Inspector), has done the "usual management things", such as Performance, Planning and has spent 2 years in Research and Development.
Michael is now at Lancashire Police Headquarters working on various projects.
